Privacy Policy for Gratitude Keeper

Effective date: August 19, 2026

Gratitude Keeper ("the app") is a private, offline gratitude journal. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.

Summary

Your journal entries, moods, and photos are stored only on your device — we never collect, transmit, or have access to any of that content. The app has no accounts and no advertising or tracking software of any kind. The one exception is subscription purchases: if you subscribe, purchase and subscription-status information is processed by Apple and by RevenueCat, a subscription management service we use, as described below.

Camera and photo library

If you choose to attach a photo to a journal entry, the app asks for permission to use your camera or photo library. The photo is copied into the app's private storage on your device. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party.

Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification directly on your device. This does not involve any server, and no data about you or your usage is sent anywhere to make this work.

Backup and restore

The app lets you export your journal (including any photos) to a file, and later restore from that file. This is done entirely through your device's native share sheet — you choose where the file is saved (for example, Files, iCloud Drive, or email), and we do not have access to it. Import works the same way in reverse: you pick a file from your device, and the app reads it locally.

Subscriptions and purchases

Gratitude Keeper offers optional paid subscriptions, purchased through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service, to verify purchases and keep track of your subscription status across app launches and devices. When you subscribe or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction information from the App Store (such as the product purchased, price, and renewal status), together with a RevenueCat-generated anonymous identifier and device identifiers needed to associate that purchase with your subscription status. This information is used solely to provide the subscription itself — RevenueCat does not receive your journal entries, moods, or photos, and this data is not used for advertising or shared for marketing purposes. See RevenueCat's own privacy policy for details on how they handle this data.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Your journal content never leaves your device. The only information transmitted off-device is the subscription purchase data described above, sent to Apple and RevenueCat solely to operate the subscription feature.

Data retention and deletion

Your journal data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Deleting an entry removes it immediately. Uninstalling the app removes all of its locally stored data, except for any backup files you have separately exported and saved elsewhere yourself. Subscription and purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own data retention practices; you can request deletion of your RevenueCat data by contacting us at the address below.

Children's privacy

Gratitude Keeper does not knowingly collect any information from children. Journal content is never collected at all, and subscription purchases require an Apple ID capable of making purchases. The app is not directed specifically at children.
